Blooms of Prorocentrum have been seen in Bishopville Prong in mid-April; the South River, Lower Pocomoke and mid-mainstem in early May; and in St. Clements Bay off the Lower Potomac in mid-May. The highest densities so far have been found in St. Clements Bay at 102,000 cells/ml.  So far these blooms are less severe than those seen in 2000.
