A citizen reported a Mahogany tide on Mill Creek in Annapolis on September 6th. A water sample collected from the area by MD DNR the same day contained bloom densities of 322,968 cells/milliliter of the non-toxic dinoflagellate, Gyrodinium estuariale. For comparison, designated threshold for bloom concentrations is 5000 cells/milliliter. |
