SPOTFIN SHINER

The Spotfin shiner is a member of the Minnow family (Cyprinidae). This species occurs in generally clear streams of moderate gradient and in the shallows of reservoirs and lakes. It is a warmwater species that is thought to interbreed with satinfin shiner, a close relative. The map below shows presence (green circles) of this species in the 1995-2019 MBSS dataset. |
