A water sample collected from the Sassafras River at Georgetown Also on September 12th showed no Microcystis and low concentrations of Anabaena and Aphanizomenon. During early August, there were widespread algal blooms in the upper Bay including elevated concentrations of Microcystis in the Sassafras River.
