Accessibility Policy
The State of Maryland and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all individuals, including people with disabilities. We strive to make the content on Eyes on the Bay accessible and usable for everyone, regardless of ability.
Compliance Goal: WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Consistent with the Maryland.gov Global Accessibility Statement, we are committed to meeting the requirements of:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II
- Maryland Non-Visual Access Clause
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA
Data & Map Accessibility
We recognize that interactive maps and real-time monitoring charts can present challenges for users of assistive technology. To ensure no user is left behind, we provide:
- Tabular Data: Data can be accessed in table format as a text-based alternative to the maps.
- Downloadable Records: Data sets are available to download in CSV format for local analysis.
- Further Assistance: If you cannot access specific environmental data via our automated tools, our staff will provide the data to you in an alternate format.
Reporting Accessibility Issues
If you encounter any accessibility barriers on our website, or if you find that any content is not fully accessible to you, we encourage you to report them. Your feedback helps us improve.
